PES Metrology offers training courses in SpatialAnalyzer® (SA) using laser trackers and measurement arms worldwide for a range of abilities.
In 2017, Head of Metrology Pete Beaumont delivered a course to 13 Metrology apprentices at the AMTC (Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre) the aim of the course was to provide laser tracker and SpatialAnalyzer 3D measurement software training to the metrology engineers of the future.
The 5-day course incorporated the necessary skills to be able to align, inspect and report using both the Leica AT401 and Leica AT901, with the last few days focusing on more complex subjects such as measurement uncertainty and advanced relationship fitting. A detailed look at how laser trackers and measurement arms work was also included in the course to give the students an insight into the fundamentals of angle encoders and different types of distance measurement.
AMTC Metrology Apprentice Sam explained “The course was delivered and structured excellently over the 5 days and I felt I gained a variety of knowledge and skills to take out into industry. Each part of the course was explained in detail and slow enough that my colleagues and I were able to understand the information, different techniques and best practice taught. Overall it was an excellent course and I highly recommend it to anyone, no matter their current ability.”
