PES have the capability to build, inspect and certify jigs, fixtures and other forms of precision tooling such as mould and lay up tools. Our jig & fixture work is primarily for the aerospace, automotive, power generation and defence industries however our wide range of instruments and skilled engineers means we are not limited to these industries. We also offer recertification and rectification services to ensure your jigs and fixtures stay well within tolerance for the life of the tool.
Using high accuracy laser trackers and measurement arms to set jigs and fixtures to their design positions, PES can inspect and rework existing tooling or build new jigs and fixtures from 2D or 3D models. Our engineers have vast experience within this field and are fully competent in the use of hand tools and machine tools such as surface grinders, milling machines and other machine tools commonly used for precision modification of jig and fixture components. PES currently use four different measurement software packages; SpatialAnalyzer, Polyworks, Metrolog X4 and Delcam PowerInspect to ensure that the best software for the job can always be utilised and customer preference respected.
On completion of the work a detailed measurement report will be issued showing nominal vs. actual data via vector plots, tabled data and labelled graphics. PES metrology reports are bespoke and customer specific according to requirements.
PES also has the capability to design and manufacture custom metrology tooling where necessary to ensure accurate measurements are taken on all critical features of the jig/fixture even if conventionally difficult or awkward to measure.
